I used to spot a pair of sparrows resting on the terrace of my house where we had moved in recently. Obviously as a animal/bird lover,I was thrilled and I made all attempts to attract the birds to build a nest nearby, I even made a birdhouse out of a old box and scattered grains all over the terrace. I did manage to feed the sparrows, it used to be regular visitor but never occupied the nest,I had made. Unfortunately, I have not seen those pair for a very long time, maybe almost 6 months now. I am willing to do anything to help the sparrows. Do let me know if I can be of any help.

I did not site a single sparrow. But i do observe the large number of blue pigeons and large number of Eagles as well. I did see owls and crows, but sparrows are totally missing. Forget about siting i dont even hear them chirping early mornings.

I see all kinds of birds in this locality, but i don't see any sparrows. I wanted to show them to my children. I miss that cirpy sound which i use to hear in my childhood.

Sparrows used to always be making nests and flying in the area. However with lack of water, increased noise and other sound disturbances, lack of nesting areas, sparrows have disappeared from the area. I saw surprisingly sparrows in the ICD Tughlakabad office after a gap of over 10 years. The area does have other bird life and interesting species are seen but sadly the humble sparrow is not to be seen. We should cultivate a habit of putting out a water basin in extreme summer so that the odd bird flying has some source of water and as well if possible grain to eat at a safe height. We need to be conscious of our nvironment and end of the day we share the space with others as well be it birds etc.
