Here is a place i enjoy visiting time and again as you can find a large number of sparrows.
There is a green habitat all round the town with old and new houses where these birds can nest. As this is a hilly area most of the houses/place have retaining walls which have small holes left in them to drain water in the rainy season which also help these birds to build nets there.
The outskirts and the tea estates are a paradise for these birds for nesting and availability of food.

I used to buy provisions for my camp from a store in Hut Bay Market. It was nice to see the shop owner being so tolerant of sparrows flying in and out of the store, landing in his open sacs of rice and feasting. Tolerance is not dead, yet!

They are frequent visitors of our home, they are like guest to us, they take bath in our tap water, have breakfast - a small Chapati which my mother prepares exclusively for them, lunch - rice which we eat, and after 5 P.M. some rice, water is always present for them to drink and have bath quite frequently.

Park situated infront of Gopal Mandir in City Ujjain Madhya Pradesh
Before 1984 also when we visited this Garden we listen very sweet chirping sound of these sparrow in evening time and whem my Grandmother spreads grains of rice in the afternoon, so many sparrows were came in our courtyard situated in Patni bazaar infront of Dath Mandir. Sometimes these sparrow also made their nest in our house which is made up of wooden roofs.
Around 2004 I have saw a nest of sparrow in the park situated near my house.
When these mobile tower has been started the species of these sparrow start to reduce.

No Story but just that i feel that they are the best house birds that ever existed and every possible effort should be done to ensure they are always have a free space/food and shelter to live in.
