There were fair number of sparrows because, whenever we placed some old rice/ pulses etc. on the kitchen window, they used to be there. Now, I have hardly seen any sparrow in the neighbourhood. They seem to have been replaced by an ever increasing number of pigeons.

I was wandering for some time that where the sparrows have gone.I used to be on the look out but could not see any. Except one day I saw them about 6-7 months back at Mayur Vihar extension Metro station just a couple of them. I have not seen after that it was only once i saw them.

I basically come from Pondicherry and I have always woken up to the chirping of these beautiful birds at home. But from the time I moved to Bangalore, its been really saddening that I havent observed even a single sparrow in my locality. Its high time we did something to stop this and get back the beautiful sparrow back. It wouldn't hurt to listen to these wonderful beings. For once, let all the reckless minds realise the beauty of the sparrows.
