I visit the design institute to teach at least twice a year as a visiting faculty. The road abutting the institute has a slum and the road lead to one of students residential quarter close by. I used to see the flock of sparrows on this road.
Incredibly large flocks of rosy pastors converge at the institute and roost there.
I've not been to this street for some time now, but intend to check it out and perhaps have a student report on the latest activity of the sparrows.

A pair of sparrows have actually made a nest under my window AC. They are her since the end of Feb this year (2012). Ocassionaly they are joined by a male sparrow and at that time there is lot of noise and fighting. I have a park facing ground floor flat with lots of greeny. The birds fly to the park and return with insects or twigs. Its their mating time too.
Last year (2011) too I had spotted 7-8 sparrows in the locality and a couple had chosen the same place for nesting. But towards April, one day I found an egg dropped on the floor and the nest abondoned. I waited for the birds to retun till December before cleaning the space.I am not sure if it is the same pair which has come to make nest this time.

They have prepared nests on my house ventilator, and my gardens mango tree. i have also seen the small baby sparrow on my house nest.

In chldhood we lived in village.So in mud house there were so many nest of saparrows.some were broken down,. then we renuate those broked nest of saparrows.and when sparrows came after collection of meals of lovely ones,they saw,fet unconjusted but everything forgot sawing their babies.
Only one message to all world.
Think Humanity,Believe humanity,Show humanity,Take Humanity,and save humanity.......not money..
Nature,god lives in his creations. so respect it,without anu greediness. God gives brain to man but man now using his brain to make god according to himself..

During this time period, I would like to inform you that there had been a sudden emergence of cats in the locality. People were actively adopting stray cats and allowing them to flourish in our society. Within a short time these cats multiplied drastically and almost covered the complex. Now cats are excellent climbers and hunters and it is my belief that these cats are responsible for the disappearance of sparrows and squirrels alike from our residential area.
