Ratanpur in Bilaspur distt Bilaspur Chhattisgarh
Ratanpur has been visited several times in last 10/12 yrs and sparrows recorded in good numbers.
During visit on 11 Nov 2009 , also about 50/60 in scattered flocks were seen in residential areas

Malajkhand copper mines township, distt Balaghat Madhya Pradesh Madhya Pradesh
During visit to Malajkhand from19 to 21 Oct 2009 we stayed in Guest house, in township, where sparrows were seen in good numbers.
But the copper mine area was also visited and not a single sparrow was seen , very few birds of other species were only seen, mostly forest dwelling , which may have wandered from adjacent forest patch
Futher affulent discharge area was also seen, here bird of any soecies was not recorded.Really sad, because the affulent contains high percentage of sulphuric acid and other harmful chemicals.
During visit to Malajkhand from19 to 21 Oct 2009 we stayed in Guest house, in township, where sparrows were seen in good numbers.

Garhi on Supkhar- Baihar Rd, distt Balaghat Madhya Pradesh Madhya Pradesh
Garhi is frequently visited place and every visit has recorded presence of sparrows, though varying in numbers from 20- 150.
During visit on 19 Oct 2009, about 100-120 birds were counted in flight at late afternoon hours.

Siltara Industrial Area, Raipur Sankara Chhattisgarh
Industrial area is spread over more than 30 SQkM,
Sparrows are seen here but appear thinly distributed.
Never big flocks seen , only 12/15 birds maximum flock size 25/30 birds.
There is acute air pollution in the area, which is possibly effecting the overall bird life.
Body colouration seems more black owing tothe black chute emitted by steel industries.
A details study is needed to assess the change in habits, regeneration capacity of sparrows and other birds in this pocket, which possibly nobody has thought , so far.

VIP Rd leading to Mowa vill, Raipur Raipur Chhattisgarh
On the stretch of about 2,5 Km of this road sparrows are invariably seen perched on electricity lines, small trees varying in numbers 5/10 to 25/30.
There are no houses in locality .
