I feel the biggest enemy for a sparrow are the crows and the Indian Mynas (shalik pakhi). Often I found that during our morning tea session we used to feed the sparrows with our biscuit crush from our box type windows. The sparrows enjoys their breakfast with us unfeared as the railing grill dosent allows the bigger birds to enter that space. As it is a routine job for us and also became a habit for those sweet creatures. Now they dosent allow us to forget them to feed. We also enjoy their activity from the closed glass window panes.

This is my Hometown.Since it is a small town so i had to live in capital city but i visit this place every year twice or thrice. Yes definitely the number has decreased but its still good to see their are still fair numbers of sparrows over there. On my roof daily 20-30 sparrows are visible. my family members put water and some food for birds on roof and they visit my house daily. That's nice to watch them. Nearby my home is Hospital which has many trees and is home of many birds and nearby there are many grassland and trees so the nest are visible but not as much as my childhood. Its really sad that there are few peoples in our locality who kill birds and i often ask them to not to do so. My family members ask them to not do do but they don't care.

Sparrows actually visit my house frequently. Two to three times I have seen a nest built by sparrows on a tree near my house and once on top of my house. There are two to three different types in terms of colours like dark brown and white and light brownish. Some are small and some bigger in size.
I used to keep available raw rice to attract them.
