My mother regularly keeps a bowl full of water and some bajraa in our garden. However, the sparrows are always more interested in my dog's food (roti and milk). The moment we keep his food in the garden they "attack" his bowl and relish the feast rather than goin for there own food, providind entertainment to us as our dog is running after them all the tym out of "jealousy". ;)
P.S. :he has never hurt a sparrow, he just shoos them away from his bowl.

I hvae been living in delhi since birth. In my locality as well in whole of delhi, there used to be lots of sparrows however roughly from the period 1998 onwards, the number of birds spotted have gradually come down and now has come to a point that we havent spotted a single sparrow since 2003.

the sparrows(2-3)i saw were in a basement parking lot of a multiplex(cinemastar) and their movements were somewhat really slow..even after honking they moved really slow..normally birds fly away when vehicles are heading their way..but these sparrows slowly hopped to a corner..

Sparrows are missing these days but i spotted tiny sparrows just few days ago around my house which has trees,shrubs and bushes...i was alerted by the typical chirp. our Office has participated in the placing of wooden inests in our area and i and my boss had spent money and effort in procuring and palcing them in strategic locations.
we always throw mashed chappati bread crumbs, keep water for the birds daily.there is presence of gauraiya onthe outskirts of our city.We would like be a part of your champaign.

i live in above locality given,i have to say previously say i year back when i came to know there is study going on this,i started observing and i could not see any sparrows, but say from past 4-5 months i have started seeing the sparrows not in large group but could around 4-5 sparrows.when i visit my native place i see lots of nest.but in my locality i cannot see it,planning to put one at my place.
