Being a telecom engineer, I do know the hazards of mobile radiations..so i believe that as the number of mobile connections are increasing day by day..number of house sparrows are decreasing rapidly..
I just wish that, I want to be awaken with the chirp of house sparrows one morning..

We keep giving food grains to all the birds. We have pigeons , house sparrows, Sun bird, Woodcutter, Weaver Bird, Peacock, etc in our locality.
They keep making their nests in trees, upper corners of walls, Windows, ventilation..

I my home village near Haridwar we have our big Cattle Shed made of mud & wood ceilings. There I see a lot of Sparrows & nests in those ceilings . I love them since my childhood. :)

I always put water & seed pots out of my house in the city for sparrows as I care about birds(especially Sparrow) & worried about their decreasing population.

I am planning to put some "artificial nests" at my balcony very soon.

I have been to very remote places and cities as well. We used to keep water and grains for sparrows when we were small. Even in cities when temperatures used to touch higher degrees during summers, the water helped them a lot, the birds quenched their thirst with those small containers of water. I have observed that large number of sparrows thrive in trees which are shady and they can easily hide for example. a fully grown mango tree or the one which has dense number of leaves. It's sad that we hardly hear the chriping in the morning in today's time. Man is loosing connection with the nature and complains about boredom and routine of life. Man is seriously missing life by getting away from these natural calls......I hope some day every one realise this......
