A couple of years before, there were many sparrows seen in my residential area... But now hardly a few sparrows are seen.

Saba Sayed - Shanti Nagar Mira Road East Mira Bhayandar Maharashtra

During the yrs mentioned above witnessed many sparrows through t the day...kept chirping our flat being on the first floor and a terrace flat they kept coming and sitting on our pavement and windows. However these days although we have put a pot of water and feed the pigeons with grains we see crows and pigeons coming through t the day but rarely see just 1 or may be 2 sparrows coming that too they seem to be very weak and fragile.

I have been living in same building since last 10years.Here every morning starts with the chirping of house sparrows n every evening ends with the same.Fortunatly building premises holds loads of trees n a small garden in the centre of building. So there are plenty of places for housesparrows to make their nests.
During the evening or early morning times these sparrow nests can be easily spotted on every "Ashoka" tree present in building premises.
We are very lucky to have these loveliest, cutest bird among us for such long time period and we definatly look forword in preserving this specises and preserving their habbitat.

Faiyaz Hawawala - Vishwakunj Cross roads in paldi area. Its a society and a peaceful place & with a green cover Paldi Ahmedabad Gujarat

The society where I stay is called kashmira society, and I regularly see few sparrows. But I havent seen any nests yet.Though I had kept a nest for them last year, I could not see any sparrows. But this year the nest is adapted by Indian Robin. Hence I also kept 2 new nests this year.

Apart from my area, there is an area called Sarkhej, where I saw a locality and to my surprise I could see lots of sparrows there. There are many hedges in the buildings there and people generally keep their homes open, which gives the sparrows a good chance to feed and are adaptive to the humans staying there.

I'm very glad to see this kind of campaign because lately i have been thinking about the same. House sparrows were so common once and now almost on the stage of extinction. All we see around here are pigeons and crows, nothing else. I hope somehow some awareness shall spread and everyone contributes towards saving these beautiful birds and animals.
