Sparrows have become endangered. Five years back there were many sparrows, they had nests in the houses also and also on the trees but now as the construction of apartments, houses has started on a great speed in our area, Not even a single sparrow is seen in the area. Previously we used to get up early in the morning because of the chirping of this beautiful endangered species and now we get with the noise of big constrution machines. I appreciate the step taken to save this endangered species. And I hope we would see them again in a large number near our houses.

I reside to this place from last 6mnths, i keep water and a bowl of Jowar/ bajra outside the balcony.. Because of this many pigeons, 4-5 squirrels and some sparrows are seen eating over there.. The number has definitely decreased..

I stay in an independent house with a BIG BALCONY. I hanged a decorative structures made of woody climbers in a ball shaped. After a week i observed a pair of sparrows finding way to get into that ball shaped structures. Later, after few days i observed that they paved their way into the woody ball shaped structures and made a nest in it. After,that i started placing food grains and water near the nest. Within a short span of time i saw nearly 5 to 6 pairs of birds daily flying in my home and one pair of bird has also laid eggs and now eagerly waiting for the completion of their incubation period.

Before this period i used to see some sparrows.But way back in 90,s there were lot of them in our locality makink nest in household.Now i m very much disturbed as i dont see i single sparrow.About 3-4 years back i was very much happy to see these birds in village Dogarpur which is just 4kms.away from our town.I think its a great need to save these little birds from extinction.

Number of birds from all species are decreasing day by day. sparrows are rarely seen. I miss them.
