Every Morning they come up to my window sill and chirl endlessly. I live on the 7th floor and have a dog, but the sparrows are rather unmindful of him and casually saunter around the house. My dog too somehow has made peace with the sparrows and lets them walk around. He cannot bear pigeons but suprisingly he does not mind the sparrows. He probably understands the danger the sparrows are facing.

in my childhood i wake up with sparrows chirping. Now i forgot that chah chana. i loved sparrow plying in my courtyard. Everything finised in this modernisation. The development we say is of no use. what we are getting is health problems, pollution, dependent on other, charterless. we dont need this heaven.

Some time i think to leave all but this enviornment, & scocisl requirement changed all of us.

Sparrows lived almost in every house in the locality and nested in places provided for them. Where nesting was not provided they did it behind leaning wall hangings. They also nested in thatched houses which were in good number in those days.

With thatched houses gone the number of sparrows dwindled and the introduction of ceiling fans killed all the remaining sparrows.

There was a time when sparrows come inside our house and feed on fallen rice grains and other eatables. That was about four years back when there was no Mobile towers in our area. After the erection of two towers in the same locality I hardly have seen them. But at the same time in a place about 10 KM away from my place where many towers are there I have seen sparrows making permanant nests in small buildings. So... How could we link sparrow population to mobile towers? I am confused. But I could say.. there is an overall impact on sparrows due to mobile towers.

sparrows come regularly on my window, we do keep grains for them to feed on. Moreover there are large open spaces in trees in and around my residence that could be one of the reasons for sparrows to hang around
