Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period?Clusters of sparrows roost here inhabiting shrub-like trees; dispersing during the day and returning to roost every evening along with roosting clusters of equally large numbers of common mynahs (Acridotheres tristis). The numbers of sparrows are usually 200 or so strong, by my estimate. These trees are on the side of a busy town road quite close to the station area, so it is surprising that the sparrows and mynahs who have been living here traditionally since I began noticing them in 1987 and onwards have not moved their roosting site though constructions, shopping and vehicular traffic (including mobile towers etc, SIC!!!) have come up all around their homesteads.
