Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period?I have been feeding sparrows since i was kid.But for past 3-4 years,I have seen a decline in sparrow number coming to feed. Earlier, it was easy to see almost 20-30 sparrows coming for feed but now i rarely see 4-5 sparrows. I have observed that the numbers have declined ever since authorities removed thorny bushes and trees like ber from the park which is situated in front of my house and replaced it with ornamental plants. Now its very rare to even hear sparrow chirps in the morning. I do occasionaly spot 2-3 sparrows but nothing compared to numbers found earlier. One more thing that i have observed is, sparrows are found in good number near my office in Noida, even though it is a dusty and polluted place. May be because there are lot of thorny bushes near my office and lots of sparrows perch on these bushes. It seems sparrows are very habitat specific.
