| Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period? | For many years, upto 2010, ie. from 1995 to 2010 to be precise, there were very few sparrows to be seen. But during the past two years they have made a dramatic comeback with many of them nesting in our building vestibule.
I have noticed that the sparrows have made a comeback ONLY AFTER MOST OF THE TRANSPORT VEHICLES IE. TAXIS & PUBLIC TRANSPORT BUSES SWITCHCED TO CNG FUEL.
As long as the taxis, autorickshaws & trucks were using ADULTERATED FUEL, THERE WERE FEW SPARROWS TO BE SEEN.
Mobile towers have increased during the same period too, but I am not so sure about their effective/destructive range. But I am quite sure that the poisonous fumes of adulterated fuel ( petrol + naphta or Diesel + Naptha ) were the real culprits in exterminating sparrows.
A small scale experiment could reveal the truth. |
