Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period? | I've been living here since 1977, when we had hundreds of sparrows nesting on trees around our building, flying into our balconies and bristling around with their sweet tweets. There has been a rapid decline over the last ten years, with the advent of pidgeons who I feel have driven away these sparrows from their nesting branches, as well as during the day.
Nowadays. seeing one is like sighting stars in the sky with the city lights on....a rarity.
This is also true for the area of Orlem, Malad west which had a very large population of sparrows, the trees are still there, but these birds have dwindled, sadly replaced by the pidgeons. |
