Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period?Sparrows built nests in our attics, ventilators and trees on the road. They visited our balconies, backyards and porticos to collect the grains that we used to throw especially for them or leave the residue of the grains that we cleaned. Very often they entered our homes in the nights and rested on the attics. They were part of our lives and there were instances when their young ones fell off the nests and since we were told that we should not touch them, lest they will be deserted by their clan, we would carefully left them with the help of cardboards and put them back into the nests. The nests were made of cotton waste, twigs and dry leaves. We would often find their feathers. Our favourite pastime was to observe the parents (we could very well identify them)feed the young ones throughout the day and also teach the young ones to fly. Oh! I miss all that fun and feel bad that my children never got to see sparrows from such close quarters!
