Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period? The resident pair drops in daily! Though the area is a territory previously claimed by the white-throated fantail (rhipidura albicollis) for over 10 years now, they coexist. During the nesting season, there is always a showdown. The feisty fantails won't tolerate these visiting birds, even the almighty, dominant crow is not spared. Stray cats beat a hasty retreat too! A sparrow's nest-box would be ideal! Can an expert advise me at what distance a nest-box can be placed without disturbing the territorial fantails? What is a minimum distance for two species to nest without a clash? A watchful harmony at the end, would be ideal... I hope!
