| Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period? | I saw decline in number of sparrows my society building. I planted a thorny creeper used for fencing.It climbed the compound wall and has grown large enough to provide shelter to sparrows from larger birds like crows and kite. Also put croutons in the garden. In my balcony there is water for birds.
Sparrows have returned for last three year. Nests are rare due to many redevelopment projects in proximity. There is one tree (social forestry type) that grows fast and has flowering (drawing insects)and seeds on which sparrows feast. One neighbor has put bird feeders and provided with artificial homes but no luck on nesting. |
