Starting earlier this year (2012) I was pleasantly surprised to see sparrows (2 - 3) once in a while in my window grills. Though we frequently see crows, pigeons, eagles and hear koyals, I hadn't seen sparrows in many years. The neighbouhood has a significant tree cover despite having many residential buildings. Perhaps the sparrows were attracted to the plants in my window grills on the 7th floor on the sea facing side of my apartment.
