| Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period? | There was a Babul (Acacia) tree near Mr. Nandkishor Dudhe's (a birder from Amravati) house. There used to be more than a 100 sparrows roosting in this particular tree. A Shikra could arrive every evening and attack the tree many times till it took one Sparrow nearly every day. The chirping would stop for a moment when death arrived and the group had given away one of its member to the one high up in the food chain. Unfortunately, this tree was cut by a mindless person, and the sparrows shifted somewhere else, leading to stopping of our observations. |
