| Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period? | There is (was?) a roost of more than a 100 sparrows on a Pongamia tree in the busy square itself. One evening, as the decline of Sparrows was being discussed, I went to Mr. Gopal Thosar's (Hon. Wildlife Warden of Nagpur then) place which is just near the square. When, I was returning home I called him back from the square and asked him to come there.
It was a pleasant surprise for him, as there were more than 100 sparrows perched on electric wires above the busy traffic. The last time I saw the roost was in March 2010. |
