A.P.W.D Guest House complex, Neil Island, South andaman. Andaman Andaman and Nicobar Islands
I born and brought up in Neil Island, When I was in my childhood, I use to play with long sniffed leaves of coconut. I use to tie the leafs like ropes from one corner of the House (quater) to another coner., by climbing to the windows. There i saw , the nest of sparrows in every corner and especially where the joining of button are provided,in the E-board. Even I saw the eggs in the nest and I use to climb every day to see the development,.My mom always scolding me, to not to take out the eggs or young ones. I have seen the complete life cycle of this bird. from egg to young one flying and fall down. And some days , the young ones made a proper flying with her mother.
We had a poulty of country hen,(around 20 to 30 hen) my mom use to feed the hen by putting rice and rice bran, every moring and evening .At that time my duty was to fly waway the sparrows from eating the rice, and rice bran. I remeber the no. of birds was more than 50 or so.
