Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period? | Despite being an old colony with most houses having several openings that can potentially be used as nests, never saw any house sparrow. Interestingly the birdlife here is otherwise ok with observed nesting of tree pies, tailor birds, crows, mynas, pigeons, barbets, and unidentified warblers. Even though there are open spaces, there is absolutely no trace of a sparrow at least in the past several months that I have been here.
Just re-editing this entry as I saw a pair of sparrows bringing nesting material on 14th April 2012 to an old, partly broken street tube-light post. The cavity is probably too small to be used by a pigeon or myna! |
