| Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period? | It was time after makar sakranti.. i saw a house sparrow, tied up in manjha (kite rope) and was struck in bushes. That was the time i was in college, graduating in science. I released that sparrow from manjha, using instruments from my dissection box. It was a good feeling, as i had always used it to disect dead animals. saving a life using it was a wonderful feeling. Sparrow's claws were badly hurt and bleeding. My father put in some antibiotic lotion there. It was so badly hurt that i had to keep her with me for 4-5 days. When well she started flying under basket. So I freed her. And we became really good buddies. Every morning she used to take bathe when I used to water plants in garden. Whenever the door is open she would leave no chance of coming in.. and used to fly around me and would sit close to me on sofa.. it used to eat and then fly away!! my friends and family used to call her bhini ki dost!! :) it used to thank me everyday in its own way for saving its life. Had i left it there in bushes that day, it would have been eaten by a dog.. I am glad how such a small deed made me so happy!! and even now when I am reminding.. I feel brighter and happy and content.. Help House sparrows!!!!!! |
