In my village sparrows were literally every where ,they used to collect garin from haystacks and also used to make nest in a govt school building ! and occasionally a chick (sparrow chick!) would fall from the nest . We used to wonder why the chick is bigger than both parents combined.
Must been a hell of a task feeding 3-4 of them.
Sadly now I have not seen a sparrow anywhere.Maybe they just disappeared or got fed up with feeding the fat chicks and thought enough is enough.
