Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period?I used to go by bus to my school everyday through this route and one day my friends and I spotted a few sparrows. Most of the places that I visited in Bangalore showed a dearth of sparrows,so finding them in these outskirts was both delightful at the same time was a cause for worry because it only meant that the number of sparrows were constantly on the decline.Everyday,we made it a sort of exercise to count the number of sparrows, some days there were five, others ten, whatever it be,only a handful were clearly observable. Sparrows played such an important role in grandmas' stories and were such a common part of the household then, yet now they have become a sort of exotic species which causes great discomfort and dissatisfaction in a lot of people. let's do simple things like keep out water, grains etc to protect the few wonderful sparrows we are blessed with now and hopefully we see a great increase in their number!
