It is quite sad to see the decline in the sparrow population. My cousin in kindergarten had to learn birds name. He had seen crows, hens, myna. But when I asked him about sparrows, "gharsirika" in our native tongue, he did not know what they were. He had never seen a sparrow. When we were kids there were a lot of sparrows and we used to feed them grains. They used to build nest on our roofs and laid blue eggs. But kids now have no idea what sparrows are. Its really a depressing scenario. I hope sparrows wont be the next dodos.
