I am a village guy migrated to suburbs of Kolkata formerly Calcutta. I grew with greens and birds and all other blessings of mother nature. It was a pain few years back when I noticed sparrows are missing from my neighborhood. Atleast 5 years till 2010 I have not noticed a single one while there were hundreds in folks flying over and tweeting through out the day. It is a pleasure too when I have noticed they are coming back one by one. Still I have not found a nest yet but currently they are seen in numbers. Definitely they are setting up nest somewhere near. I am really happy having them in the hood again.
