| Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period? | We used to have the house sparrows building nests inside our house. And when they come chirping into the house we had to switch off the fans inside so that they can fly unhindered. We had many occasions when the eggs laid in the nests used to hatch and the young ones used to fall to the floor. we took great pity on the ones that have fallen and have put them back into the nests many times, but never knew whether they survived thereafter.
The growing urbanisation with every house being converted into an apartment led to the loss of foliage in the neighbourhood and we no longer see even one sparrow these days. The space for the nests were also sealed for strengtheneing the building structures. That also was probably a reason why the sparrows never came back... |
