Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period? In my house sparrows are welcome. Crows are their natural enemies so they do not nest in the balconies in boxes or nesting places provided because they are very choosy birds. In my balcony they find places. They make their own nest using hay and all kinds of materials that they can lift. They choose the shelves in my balcony to nest. Several generations of sparrows live in my balcony. They will take a lot of advantage of you once they understand that you are harmless. In course of time they become totally fearless of you. When they choose the nesting places they take a lot of things into account. The first and foremost is crows: they will see to it that they are free from crows especially during the breeding of their chicks. The fledglings are also vulnerable to crow attacks so will take that also into attack while making nests. But sparrows live in my house naturally. Many of us can protect the sparrows by giving them little space to nest. Yes, I agree they can be a bit nuisance but how much nuisance we are daily doing to the environment!! Shall we not do our bit to protect a species which are willing to live in our houses. Open your windows and protect them before they become totally extinct!!
