During going to school in 1990s, I would always get up with chirping of house sparrows, there were many citing on the electricity cable or searching for food outside the road. However now since past 10 years there number have gone down now, I very rarely see any.
One major change in last 10 years in our locality have been the construction of metro. The huge Neem Trees on the main najafgarh road were uprooted for construction of Delhi Metro.
I use to see lots of birds, house sparrow, pigeons and even brids sitting on the tree on main road from my house. While pigeons are still there in plenty in the locality but house sparrows have disappeared.
