In the last two years there three nests two under the rain shade of our bedroom/hall window and one on the staircase landing outside our flat. The only successful nesting place till date and the only one remaining is the one on the staircase landing. It is one place that the crows can't get access to. The other nests have always been attacked by the crows and the young sparrows eaten by them. About two months back I've put up a sparrow house as a pair used to hang around the bedroom window on the clothes line and after the initial activity the pair did build a nest in the house. But for some strange reason, the female has disappeared and it is only the male who is around chirping and trying to attract a mate, but is still not successful. Hope he finds one shortly.
