Old Khar, S. V. Road Khar West Mumbai Maharashtra
I lived there and every evening at dusk the sparrows would gather on the huge peepal tree on the corner of our house busy chirping and talking to each other of the events of the day. Some would fly accross to the other huge peepal tree accross the road back and forth. We did not need an alarm clock to wake us up, the delightful chirping of the sparrows always told us it was morning and time to get up. My father always shared a little of his breakfast of chappati with the sparrows, taking the trouble to cut it in small pieces and keeping it on the parapet.
