Nawapara Town, where I worked for 2 yrs in 1969- 71, and thereafter visited many times, was revisited on 2 jAN 2011.
During drive along more than 1.5 Km of road more than 100/120 sparrows were seen, as usual in flocks.
Birds nests here and even at my residence 3 nests were built,
There exists good population but now depleted by 20/25 % as compared to past.
In surrounded cultivated area fewer birds are seen.
