Malajkhand copper mines township, distt Balaghat Madhya Pradesh Madhya Pradesh
During visit to Malajkhand from19 to 21 Oct 2009 we stayed in Guest house, in township, where sparrows were seen in good numbers.
But the copper mine area was also visited and not a single sparrow was seen , very few birds of other species were only seen, mostly forest dwelling , which may have wandered from adjacent forest patch
Futher affulent discharge area was also seen, here bird of any soecies was not recorded.Really sad, because the affulent contains high percentage of sulphuric acid and other harmful chemicals.
