While sparrows used to be very common in 2009 (when I moved to the campus), especially near the market and some residences near the KV school, they had all but disappeared in 2010 and 2011. They seem to have returned in good numbers in 2012 though, and I see them fairly frequently all around the campus, including the hillside area that I live in.
