Aradhana Srivastava - Green Park Main Green Park New Delhi Delhi

We moved into the locality in 1991; the colony was full of sparrows. We live on the first floor, and the sparrows would frequent the tree just outside in front of our house. They would also hop around the balcony among our potted plants, foraging for food. Then they started building nests in the narrow space between our sliding balcony door and the wall in which it was fitted. In fact we never used one section of the door so as not to disturb them. Every spring they would get busy with twigs in their mouths, building the nests, then after some time we would hear the faint chirps of the fledglings! It was such an eagerly awaited time!
