There were enough numbers of sparrows which were an easy catch for some of the people in our locality who were interested in their meat. Traditional methods of using a large container held over a loosely standing stick to catch sparrows worked well to catch them. Over the last few years, there has been significant decrease in their occurence around this area. My last visit to the place was in December of 2011 when I hardly saw sparrows around the place.
