On the 7th of May, 2012, while I was driving down the Tummukunta/Pothaypally Rd, Shameerpet, RR Dist, AP, I suddenly spotted a small group of birds take wing as the car approached. One of the birds had paused on the sand beside the road, and as I passed I saw it was a sparrow! I was thrilled because it is quite sometime since I've seen one. Several months ago I've seen one or two of them flying about, a little away from this place, but I've never been able to get a close look like I did on the 7th. As a child, I lived at Yousufguda, Hyderabad, and we used to have sparrows trying to build their nests in the bowl of the ceiling fans.
