Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period?I saw sparrows every day when i lived at my village called Tumbemane of sirsi tq, Northcanara dist. They had nests in my house and my uncle' houses behind photo frames, wooden logs of the houses. (huge houses built by wood and tiles). They made the sound throughout the day. They were busy searching food, fed their chicks. They even stole our hairbands, cotton from beds for their nests. Once my brother tried to take the chick from the nest. My mother warned not to do it because they might abandon the chick because of human touch. when my mother placed rise, pulses in open area for drying, they used to feed on them. we sometimes put nets, but never harmed them. Some ten years back, they were vanished. Again, since 3-4 years, we r seeing them at our house. my brother made wooden boxes for them as nests. Again we r hearing their 'chili pili' when we visit our village.
