Well, not many stories of now but when we were kids, our maternal grandmother used to catch them from the pillar porches, would used to paint their bellies and release them. That was a childhood game but those high number of nests and birds are no more visible now.Even my township has lost the great number of sparrows it used to have. In towns their chirps has reduced dramatically. I have been in Delhi as well where I used to see them in Uttam Nagar area till 2007
