Our huge house at Maharanipeta was demolished for the construction of a new apartment complex. The loss of trees around and ventilators, nooks and corners of the house was a big loss to the little beings; therefore, when I visited Vizag in 2009, there were literally no sparrows. However, to my great delight, this time, when I went there in April 2012, I observed a few of them coming back to my uncle's house alongside the demolished structure. They were not so numerous as before, nor were they very frequent visitors, (maybe 3-4 times a week), but still they were there. My aunt feeds them daily with grains. I do hope their number gradually increases.
