When I first got married in 1997, I went to Vadodara, where my husband was working at the time. We were in a small portion on the first floor of a house, and I used to observe sparrows flitting in and out of the several houses around. They even used to come onto our balcony. On one occasion, a sparrow couple built its nest on top of the tubelight in our drawing room! We had to be very careful to remember not to use the fan, as long the nest was there, and the couple flew in and out. After the fledglings flew away, (one of which unfortunately died after being thrown out of the nest by the parents before it could fly), we removed the nest. It was a very thrilling experience all along, that a little sparrow couple shared our house!!
