abhijit das - nayabazar,balasore nayabazar,balasore Baleshwar Odisha

During that time i was in 5th grade. I was living near the nayabazar market. It was mainly a vegetable market but it had a part which was used for sailing food grains(like pulses, rice etc..)and it was like ali baba's khajana to the little sparrows. There were nearly 60 to 70 of those cute little creatures(sparrows) waiting for the shopkeeper to open the shop. The shopkeepers too anticipated about there action so each of them would take a handful of grains and place it on stone very familiar to the sparrows.Every morning would start with there sweet creeping sounds bringing a freshness to the whole area. The shopkeepers were drive by the belief that providing the sparrows with grains would enhance there luck and would bring prosperity to them. Some of the sparrows had there nest in the centre of the market and some came from near by trees. There was a mutual understanding between the shopkeepers and the sparrows which resulted in giving protections to the little birds which increased there growth. It was nice to see such understanding between man and birds.Everyday my way through to school i counted there numbers for i believed that if the no. was odd then its going to be a bad day and if even then the opposite. And it was obvious that i lose my count every time for they were a lot to count while cycling!
