Height :- 6-8 cm
Length :- 10-15 cm
Group :- 5-20
1. There is characteristic distinction b/w Male & Female;on the basis of body colour.
2. Frequently seen in early morning.
3. They are very peaceful & co-op erative in behaviour & there is very less conflict observed
in a group.
4. They generally make nest in the cracks & holes in the walls of buildings.
5. There is no characteristic shape of nests.They make their nests according to the available space.
6. Food habits:- small grains,daliya,rice;they eat even boiled rice also.the suprising fact is that is that they wait for their turn for food , if the quantity of food is small .
“ I have never seen them conflicting for food . “
Male and female both are seen :
(A) Female– Body muddy brown in colour with chocolate brown,Black & White strips on back side. B Beak is almond coloured.
(B) Male-Body is chocolaty brown in colour , White strips on back , chest is white in colour .
Beak is dark black.
