I live in the Panjim and in an apartment,which is surrounded by open spaces like play grounds and a river flowing close by.When we moved in 1981 there was much more vegetation and huge trees around & a variety of birds and a lot of house sparrows,then for the last couple of years the sparrows disappeared and we had lot of pigeons and crows coming to our balcony but for the last couple of months we have had the sparrows back and its a joy to hear them and they fly into the house very happily and they have tried to build a nest in one of the light shades inside the house
