These group of sparrows numbering approximately 20-25 are seen by me almost every morning while leaving my residence. These seems to have build their nests (which wasnt seen by me) in a elctric transformer shed. The adjoining areas are open field and a school, with twigs and small branches in & around.

These birds frequently nests in our attic / ceiling (tin / corrogated roof) of our stair case, using dried grasses and small twigs. however they do have to compete for best location with a number of pigeons who also nest in the attic. Our being an old neighbourhood almost every house has atleast one full grown tree of various species and hence nesting materials are always in good supply.

Recently a couple of sparrows have nested in our stair case ceiling and have given birth. However, unfortunately one of their chick have fallen from the nest (approx 10-15 days back) and was quickly devoured by our pet dogs. Earlier though the number of nests and the no. of birds seen were high (more than 20) and have now being reduced. Presently atleast 4-5 sparrows eagerly await their daily breakfast (few crumbs of thin araroot buiscuit) from my father and share it with their other neighbours (some crows and common Indian Myna - Acridotheres tristis.

the sparrows are seen in the small hedges growing in our building. However I have not seen any nests.
These have been seen along with Turdoides striata which seems to quarrel with the sparrows quite a lot
