I had a bird feeder hanging outside my hall window where four of them could feed at a time. I also had a bowl of water on the sill. Five to six of them would turn up together & then instead of feeding, they would dissolve into a ball of chirping & arguing with each other, before they fed! And then ritually each would drink water, clean their beaks before flying away.

I have a bird feeder outside in my balcony & its always filled with pearl millet (bajra). I thought that only birds would come to it. But now the chap who comes most often is a squirrel, and the others are sparrows and an occasional bulbul.
The most amusing thing is when a sparrow & a squirrel ( turn up at the same time. Each one waits patiently for the other to finish. Funnily when two sparrows come to it together, they usually jump at each other, not letting anyone eat!
