I am not sure but there was a time period when the sightings declined alot.And then suddenly after some time a fair number of sparrows were seen again.

They were my source of entertainment while my Mom used to feed me breakfast or lunch in my childhood.I used to throw grains so they could eat them.I remember once a tiny one entered our house and the commotion that followed as the fan was on.Its 2012 now and there still exists a nest on my kitchen exhaust and it was because of the tantrums I kept throwing at my parents so as not to hurt them by removing the nest.So I am still blamed for an exhaust-less kitchen.There are many such stories when I have found injured sparrows, brought them home and some died and I kept crying and some healthy and flew away happily.
