Soumik Karmakar - Narkeldanga, Phoolbagan Beliaghata Kolkata West Bengal

I feed them moori (moora in hindi maybe; basically fried rice grains puffed white). They can spot these from a distance and come to our windows to feed. However, they are shy and fly away as soon as a human comes closer.

Luckily the road (galli) in our para has not be concretised or made pucca with bitumen/coal tar. It is still a kaccha lane. I believe this contributes to their hunting ground for small insects.

They are mostly spotted when the sun is low in the sky i.e. morning or evening.

There are some trees in and around our locality and they perch there.

Also many houses in our locality have plants in our terraces. The mud/soil pots holding the plants also serve as feeding places as I noted couple of times in the evening.
